Photographer, visual and video artist, Anne Laure Boyer works in the field of memory and sense of place. Architectural spaces containing the discourses of everyday things, such as are prominent in ruins, industrial wasteland, outmoded architecture, unused spaces and building sites. Free of their paradoxical immobility, time is stopped, suspended, but never ceases to evoke both simultaneously the past and the future. It is within this intermediate time/space that Anne Laure Boyer uses her art to show another layer of time, taking it towards a vision of space as a living organism. Between her roots in Paris, to Milan (Académie des Beaux-Arts), Strasbourg, (École des Arts Décoratifs), Casablanca et Marseille, her artistic journey is also geographical. Engaged by specific territories, she creates her work from an immersion in environments of urban transformation. Anne Laure Boyer uses these transitions to create spaces which explore the gaps in our spacial awareness, along with visual urban discoveries, on-site installations or in public spaces. She uses photography as her principle artistic media, but sometimes she places more mephasis on relational esthetics.
