Portraits of appartments before relocation of the residents, demolition and reconstruction in an area of social housing.
Before their relocation, Anne Laure Boyer suggested to residents to photograph rooms in their appartments and to film the process of moving house. The photos were given to the inhabitants and also shown at ‘La Boutique-Souvenirs’ in 2010, and at the district social centre in 2011.
Before leaving, the residents sorted, arranged and packed up their property and their memories. There followed relocation to a new place in which to recreate. Between boxes and ornaments, Anne Laure Boyer is the witness of this special moment of transformation where individuals are neither in one place or another. This interim space gives birth to videos where areas are emptied and refilled, where cupboards are taken down and then remounted once again, where armchairs are moved and stuffed toys appear and disappear.
